Building the Workforce of Tomorrow

The mission of the Apprenticeship Readiness Fund is to break down barriers and forge direct links to union construction careers. Through free MC3 training, mentorship, and career navigation, we help participants discover the trade that fits them best and support them every step of the way toward apprenticeship and beyond.

By supporting participants from training through placement, we build lasting careers, increase apprenticeship retention, and strengthen the future of the construction industry.

The Apprenticeship Readiness Fund works directly with the affiliated unions of the Los Angeles/Orange Counties Building and Construction Trades Council, alongside workforce development programs and signatory employers, to create clear pathways for individuals to enter the skilled trades.

Opening Doors to Union Careers

The Apprenticeship Readiness Fund offers a wide range of services aimed at preparing individuals for successful careers in construction, including:

Outreach and Engagement

We partner with community-based organizations, workforce development agencies, and local partners to connect residents with our training programs and opportunities in the skilled trades.

Free MC3 Apprenticeship Readiness Training

Participants complete 120+ hours of classroom and hands-on instruction, covering nine core modules such as construction safety, blueprint reading, math, financial literacy, and labor history. Graduates also earn OSHA 10, CPR, and First Aid certifications.

Participant Services

Our team works one-on-one with participants to provide personalized support, mentorship, and guidance throughout the training process, ensuring they stay on track and feel prepared for apprenticeship.

Union Project Placement

We work closely with signatory contractors and union partners to match participants to the trades of their choice and guide them through the apprenticeship application process, providing a warm handoff into their career.
